See the world from your kitchen

Another way to enjoy vintage in the home? By seeing the world- with travel- themed tea towels. Often souvenirs, commonly found in excellent condition and available at reasonable price points- these are wonderfully useful kitschy additions to your home. Find one you love too much to sully? It'll easily fit into a standard poster frame.

Take a trip to Grand Bahama Island with this crisp example from ObjectRetro.

Get inspired dinner ideas from this find, offered by estateofmind.

Always wanted to visit New Zealand? Here's your chance, thanks to JazzyMarie.

Perhaps you're hungry for New Hampshire? Look no further- myatticstreasures has this sweet find!

I have one of these in my personal collection- this classic Union Jack is available from pixiedustlinens.

Other favorites of mine- though no longer crisp and pristine- include a London Tube map, the Chicago skyline, a Jamaican coffee history, a history of Italian cheese on the "boot" and an Australian Koala bear with a flight bag.

And who could forget this, um, special example hanging in my laundry room?

Do you use your collections of vintage tea towels or decorate with them? Do you collect by theme, designer, regions of the world, or simply buy whichever ones you fancy?

Disco Inferno

Disco.

Inferno.

Approximately 104 degrees on my back porch before 10 am is more than enough of an inferno for this pasty, heat sensitive gal.

The truly, um, amazing scan (above) of a vintage ad is via kitschyliving.

"...Show where you're headed in the ultimate fashion climax...Easy on, easy off, quick as a flick of her tongue...Are you man enough to fill it?"

Hot, indeed!

And I have remarkably similar glasses available in my guy's shop. To protect you (or yourself) from the rays bouncing off of his zippers. And manliness.

Sadly, no jumpsuit in "sexy, cool crinkle cloth for those hot nights to come", but this Western shirt is pretty awesome.

As is this wide Yves Saint Laurent tie. Not "50% polyester"- but 100% silk!

Think plaid is rad? Check out these corduroy bell bottoms. Matching belt included, of course. "Designated with your desires in mind", as always.

Have fun in the sun!

Sneak Peeks and the Kiddie Pool

It's Saturday afternoon and I'm currently at a local Mexican dive restaurant, drinking margaritas. Scheduled posts rock.
I've been remiss lately but wanted to pop in and say "Heeeaayyyy", as well as share some choice "coming soon" items with you, my loyal and lovely blog readers.

Your eyes do not deceive you. It's an early 1980s black Adidas track suit with red stripes and embroidered trefoil logos. On the chest and hip. Men's (adult unisex) size L, in very good condition.

The gorgeous model you guys can't seem to name is looking sassy in a 1960s POP swirl tank suit with U- back. Unworn, with original hygienic liner in place. About a modern US 6- 8 with bullet bra cups in the full B to C range.

Ulster 100% linen tea towel with bucolic horse and farm scene. Original creases in place. Made in Ireland, of course.

And now you know where the kiddie pool comes in. George loves laying around in his little dude- sized pool.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
